Start Tanning on the Best Beaches
Enjoying the turquoise coast and relaxing on the beach are some of the top things to do in Bodrum. With warm weather starting as early as April, visitors can sunbathe on countless beautiful beaches, many with free admission, while soaking up the region’s natural beauty and vibrant seaside atmosphere.
Gumbet Beach
Gumbet Beach is the best place in Bodrum for those who are looking for an upbeat atmosphere. There are plenty of water sports, and the place is crawling with beach bars. Gumbet Beach is a great option for high-energy seekers.
The beach isn’t quite close to the city centre. It’s a 30-minute walk west, but you can easily find a taxi or use the local dolmuş, which is a minibus. Dolmuş is one of the cheapest ways of transportation through Bodrum.
Several night bars and clubs are also in the vicinity, and that’s part of the reason why young people are looking to book a stay close to Gumbet beach.
Camel Beach
Although Camel Beach is located outside of the city, it’s one of the best Bodrum tourist places. It’s without a doubt one of the tidiest places to relax and enjoy the sea. The only way to arrive here is to use transportation because it’s too far away for a walk.
The surrounding area of Camel Beach has a few dining places and cafes, but you can always bring a few snacks with you if you’re planning on visiting. Sunbeds are available on-site, but make sure you get informed, as they might come with a price.
Bitez Beach
Many refer to Bitez Beach as one of the biggest hidden gems in Bodrum. The beach is located far away from the city centre and the crowds, and it’s an ideal spot for families who are looking to have a relaxing time. You’ll come across a few laid-back restaurants that offer fresh seafood in the region, and if you want to be a bit adventurous, there’s also a diving centre in its vicinity.
We’d advise you to also experience the sunset when visiting this beach, as the views are absolutely spectacular. The night sky and the relaxing sound of the waves crashing on the beach are definitely one of the top things to see in Bodrum (and experience at the same time).
Yahsi Beach
If there’s ever a spot where you can indulge in crystal clear water and golden soft sand and enjoy it all to the fullest, it’s Yahsi Beach. Just like most of the beaches on this list, this place is also away from the city centre. You’ll need some kind of transportation to get here. Even though it’s on a 30-ish minute drive from Bodrum, it’ll definitely be worth your time.
Apart from the tranquil atmosphere, Yahsi Beach hides a few interesting beachside bars where you can enjoy cocktails or other beverages.
Torba Beach
Most of the beaches in Bodrum are located west of the city centre. That’s not the case with Torba Beach. This place is located north of the city in the region of Torba. The most unique thing about Torba Beach is that it’s surrounded by nature and has an extremely cool atmosphere.
It’s ideal for all types of visitors – those who want to relax and those who want to have a bit of fun. There are a few exclusive beach clubs that you can enjoy, and if you’re looking to come on a vacation and just chill, you’ll find plenty of hotels in the vicinity.
