The Bodrum tourist guide isn’t just about visiting historical places or lying on the beach. The city offers tonnes of activities, regardless of when you’re travelling there. With that being said, some of the top things to do in Bodrum are explained below.
Beach Activities
If you’re visiting during the high season, check out nearby beach activities. There are plenty of beach clubs and sports events, all of which offer tonnes of entertainment. You can go snorkelling, scuba diving, or even go on a sailing trip.
Nightlife and Entertainment
There’s no shortage of nightclubs in Bodrum. This is, after all, a lively city. Mandalin Bodrum, B1-Be One Club Gümbet Bodrum and the Moonlight Bar are just a fraction of the places that you can visit. There are many alternative bars and pubs where you can have a few pints and even enjoy pool games. The Bodrum nightlife never disappoints, especially if you’re visiting during summer.
Visit Pamukkale
If you have spare time, you can plan a day trip to Pamukkale. The name literally translates to “field of cotton”, and it’s located on a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Bodrum. Keep in mind that you’ll likely have to rent a car to get here. Pamukkale is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the most interesting part about it is that there aren’t a lot of accurate historical facts about the place.
Eat Local Food
The list wouldn’t be complete without sharing a few words about the local cuisine. There are many excellent restaurants where you can try the likes of Bodrum kumpir, Tandır Kebab, Çökertme Kebabı, Bodrum Künefe and Manti. If you’re an early bird, you can always treat yourself to a cup of Turkish coffee. Almost every restaurant serves it, and you might even get lokum (Turkish delight) with it.
